The plantations are located at altitudes of at least 1200 metres above sea level. The trees grow in the shade of taller plants, which protect them from excessive sunlight. Colombian coffee is particularly appreciated for its surprisingly mild flavour. This sets it apart from African or Brazilian varieties, which are characterised by a sharper taste. The flavour of Colombian coffee has floral tones, tropical aromas, red berries, apples and sweet notes of chocolate, sugar cane and caramel.

Columbia DECAF Swisswater is a unique coffee that allows you to enjoy all the flavours of coffee, but without the harmful effects of caffeine. The Swisswater method uses only water, temperature and time to gently remove the caffeine while retaining all the original properties of the coffee. This means you get the best possible cup of decaffeinated, chemical-free coffee. This method was developed in Switzerland in the 1930s. Green coffee extract (CGE) is water-soluble and allows the caffeine molecules to transfer from the green coffee to the CGE due to the surrounding pressure gradient. Once the CGE contains most of the caffeine, it seeps into carbon sinks that remove the caffeine molecule from the CGE. The GCE is then used again to remove the caffeine content from the green beans and the process is repeated until 97% or more of the caffeine is removed.
